There's so much noise in our world. I learned to read and write at a time where there wasn't as much noise. I think I learned to read and write better that way, with more intention. I think it's harder to concentrate today, and it's harder to dive deeply. I can't imagine how anyone can learn to do anything difficult anymore.
This photo was taken in the back of our barn. One crack of a twig, and it'll go bounding away. You'll wonder if you imagined it.
Look at those ears. Every sound matters, so they are adapted to hear even the quietest footstep. At this hour, it's very, very quiet.
