They seem to always be falling ill (do flowers fall ill? they pick up diseases, so I suppose they do?) and needing TLC. I just don't have the patience or the nerves of steel for the heartbreak when a rosebush dies. We prefer old-fashioned cottage roses, and if we can find them, wild roses growing in the woods, which we sometimes will try to transplant to the front of the house.
But here is a rosebush that we fell in love with because of the lovely color of the flowers. It's not a fancy rose by any means, so we are hoping it survives.
