A tropical treat

All of a sudden!

One moment there were buds, and the next—a burst of color!

We have had some very hot days (and nights) lately. In fact, at midnight last night (I was writing, of course) it was 94 degrees F. But the “dew point,” what we actually felt, was 104 degrees F! At midnight!

The hibiscus plant is very happy. As for myself, having tramped around the English countryside in cold, wet, muddy weather at the height of summer…I am sitting very still and can honestly say that I do not mind the heat.
